Matthew Leonard, born Badu Island in the Torres Straits Island Group in 1990 which is a territory of Australia.
Played Soccer from a young age and his parents moved to Townsville, Australia when he was nine years old, played for the North Queensland Fury in the A-League in it's first seasonwhen he was eighteen years old.
Moved to the United States to play with FC New York, then signed with ECAC for it's first season.
