Football Club Battalion is an American professional simulation soccer club based in Wilmington, Delaware which competes in the Continental Premier League (CPL), the top professional simulation soccer league on the Chris Creamer Sports Logos Community (CCSLC) Board. It is one of ten charter clubs of the CPL.
The club’s home field is the 23,000 seat soccer-specific stadium, Wilmington Trust Field, owned by the city of Wilmington, Delaware and situated near the Delaware River. The club is owned by Bryan Smalley. The club’s head coach is Henric von Schmidt. Players such as Fabien Farkas, Gerrard Butler, Carson Barnaby, and Garrett Berryman highlight the club’s inaugural roster.
The club’s official nickname is the "The Regiment" in homage to the 1st Delaware Regiment who fought admirably under the command of Colonel John Haslet during the American Revolutionary War. The inaugural home kits are consists primarily of deep Purple base with light Brown chevrons across the front of the shirt, and white piping throughout the shirt. Additionally, the primary sponsor, FedEx Express, is located at the bottom of the backside of the kits. The inaugural away kits are an inverse of the home kits. However, there will be in an overhaul of the kits for Season Two and onward.
Rivalry[]
I-95 Invitational[]
Due to the proximity between each club, the I-95 Invitational was established between FC Battalion and Bayern Baltimore at the start of Season 1. The Invitational consists of a series of home and away matches as the victor is determined by total points accumulated at the conclusion of the final regular season match. However, the Invitational may include additional clubs during future seasons.
